I think the basis for their ranking is really intriguing – university degrees, number of performing arts venues, information exchange and political engagement.  Sort of impressed Chicago ranks so high!  Go team town!

Foreign Policy examined 65 cities with a population of more than 1 million, rating business activity, human capital, information exchange, cultural experience and political engagement.

Weight was given to the number of Fortune Global 500 firms based in a city, as well as the percentage of residents who have university degrees, the number of performing arts venues and the number of embassies and consulates.
